                                                   AFTER HOURS TELEPHONE ACCESS

To speak with the doctor for an urgent matter after hours, call 847-823-8000 to be connected to the Answering Service.  Following the prompts, you will be instructed to enter a call back telephone number, then wait to speak to an operator who will take your message.  Make sure to follow the prompts carefully and if you did not speak to a live operator, the doctor WAS NOT paged with your message.  If you don't receive a call back from the Doctor On Call within 60 minutes, please contact the Answering Service again. 

                                                 PRIVACY MANAGER/BLOCKED CALLS

As has been the long standing practice, Dr. Frank will continue to be available for after hour’s emergency phone consultations.  However, the recent increase in the use of Privacy Manager and other services that prevent blocked calls has become a significant inconvenience in providing this free service.  The doctors request that they only be paged to phone numbers that will accept a blocked call.  For obvious reasons, the doctors will not unblock their own private numbers.  The use of blocking services may result in the on-call doctor being unable to attend to your concerns about your child’s health. We appreciate your cooperation with this matter.

                                                             PRESCRIPTION REFILLS

You must speak with one of the doctors, during routine office hours, prior to having the pharmacy call for any medication refills or changes.  The lack of such will result in the doctor denying the request.

                                            EMERGENCY ROOM/IMMEDIATE CARE USE

Unless you feel that there is a life threatening issue, Dr. Frank strongly encourages you to contact the Physicians prior to going to an urgent care center or the Emergency Room.  This includes “Walk-In Clinics” such as those at CVS and Walgreen’s. This will insure appropriate medical care, improve the continuity of care, and minimize unnecessary expense.
